My first real art purchase

Well, now that I'm a big girl with a job, I decided it was time for me to buy my first original artwork.
When I was part of the Good Wood Show in Philly they had so many great decks, I figured this was my perfect opportunity.

I bought one of Leo Espinosa's Decks.
It should be arriving to me sometime next week! I can't wait. I already know where I want to hang it up.

If you don't know of Leo's work, I suggest you check it out immediately. :)

Good Wood: Philly

Grant and I went to Philly this weekend to attend the good wood show opening at the Slingluff Gallery.
It was really great!
There were some really nice decks! Its actually an auction (that is still going on). When I find out the link I'll post the it so that anyone who's looking for a good deal on some original art can join in on the bidding!

Grant Gilliland (The Gross Uncle) and I are collaborating on a skate deck for the Good Wood Show in Philly!

We only have a little bit left to do! I'll post when we're finished :)

Elephants!

Elephants fall in love too!
and they're one of my favorite animals to draw!

What I wore Today

I've been doing these "what I wore today" drawings for the flickr group that the talented Gemma Correll runs. Its a fun little group where illustrators add drawings of what they wore that day. An illustrators look book minus the hipster factor.
Here are the ones I've done so far.
Gemma also made a blog of it: http://whatiworedrawings.blogspot.com/

I usually do these drawings on my lunch break! Nice time to get a little illustration in!

Labor Day weekend

I hope everyone had a really nice long weekend! I know I did!
Here are a couple things I was able to make while I was enjoying my time off.

Here is a portrait of my best friend (and fellow illustrator), Maria and I. I picked up some water colors and finally had the chance to mess around with them. Can't wait to experiment more!

This is a typical day in the lives of Grant and I!
I've been working a lot in photoshop lately because I work mostly in Illustrator at work. Its nice to change mix things up!
